Peppermill Lake - Oxford, WI August 15th

Image
Voyage number two on our kayaking adventure brought us to a small local lake called Peppermill Lake.   (This was before I figured I'd take a lot of photos.  In fact, this was before I was brave enough to bring my phone along in the kayak... figuring I'd fall out before I got my shot lined up. I'd also like to add that these posts are not added on the day or even the week that H1 and I ventured onto the water. )  Anyhow - a few facts about Peppermill Lake: 53 acre lake at about a maximum of 12 feet deep.  Moderately clear water with largemouth bass, musky, northern pike and panfish.  Public boat landing. What we discovered:  It's a nice lake.  There is a portage to the side of the launch which empties into a nice little stream called Peppermill Creek.  The creek flows into a smaller lake called McDougall Lake which appears to have no public access.    Since this was roughly our second outing, we didn't go far on Peppermill.  From the boat landing
